"I have enjoyed the new mast on the Thirza for 8 years. I sail regattas regularly and the boat has become much faster, also the handling is better: she lies better on the rudder, and when wave against she stomps much less. The weight saving compared to the furling rig was 90kg.
The mast data was transmitted to the sailmaker and the sails fit perfectly into the mast curve, a flat reefing is very well and differentiated possible. Pumping of the mast in the wave is no longer seen.
No major damage occurred, this despite 8 years of racing."
